Solenne Paidaissi travels the world with her violin. Student in Nice, Geneva, London, Hamburg and Philadelphia, she won many international competitions in Hanover, Sion, Gyengnam, Kiev, Warsaw, and won the Jacques Thibaud international competition in 2010.??For this first recital for the label Aparté, she chose to settle down east for a narrative program around two composers: Karol Szymanowski and Igor Stravinsky. With the Myths op. 30 (1915) with titles inspired by the legends of ancient Greece, La Fontaine d'Aréthuse, Narcisse, Dryades and Pan, Szymanowski claims to have created "a new mode of expression for the violin". We hear the nymph Aréthuse metamorphosed into a fountain to escape the advances of a love god, the reflection of Narcissus in the clear water, the sarcasm of Pan? Before the war, Szymanowski had rented an apartment in Vienna, a city whose cultural life had seemed narrow and suffocating. The Three Caprices of Paganini op. 40 (1918) is a disillusioned commentary on this city, and on Paganini. The Divertimento on the Kiss of the Fairy is a suite composed on Stravinsky's ballet, written in tribute to Tchaikovsky to which he borrows themes from some early works . It is inspired by Andersen's tale The Snow Queen. With the Italian suite Pulcinella, Stravinsky transforms the music of Giovanni Pergolesi, inaugurates the "neoclassical" style and tells the love story of a young Neapolitan named Pulcinella (Polichinelle). Solenne Païdassi signs a travel diary here on the Slavonic, whimsical and sensual imaginary, to listen between two readings.
